7.4.2 Cleaning the lateral inserts, Floam cells and foam base
1) Take the lateral inserts, Floam cells and foam base out of the inner cover (see fig. 4, see
fig. 5, see fig. 6, see Page 20).
2) Use lukewarm water for cleaning. If necessary, an alcohol-free disinfectant or mild detergent
can be added.
3) Wipe the lateral inserts, Floam cells and foam base with a damp cloth or sponge.
4) Rinse thoroughly with clear water.
5) Dry the lateral inserts, Floam cells and foam base with a towel, dab or let air dry at room tem
perature.
6) Avoid exposure to direct heat (e.g. sun or heat from radiators and stoves).
8 Maintenance
The function of the product should be checked before each use.

Check the product monthly for wear and tear and damage. The interval between inspections
•
should be further reduced for very heavy users.

Check the outer and inner covers for rips, holes and other damage.

Verify that the zip is working properly.

Remove dust and dirt particles from the outer cover's hook-and-loop strap.

Check the lateral inserts, Floam cells and foam base for damage.

Have damaged or worn parts replaced by qualified personnel as soon as possible.
•
Service and repairs may only be carried out by authorised, qualified personnel or the manu
facturer. This will ensure that only Ottobock spare parts are used for repairs.
9 Disposal information
Return the product to the specialist dealer for disposal.
All components of the product must be disposed of properly in accordance with the respective
national environmental regulations.
10 Legal information
All legal conditions are subject to the respective national laws of the country of use and may vary
accordingly.
10.1 Liability
The manufacturer will only assume liability if the product is used in accordance with the descrip
tions and instructions provided in this document. The manufacturer will not assume liability for
damage caused by disregarding the information in this document, particularly due to improper
use or unauthorised modification of the product.
10.2 CE conformity
This product meets the requirements of the European Directive 93/42/EEC for medical devices.
This product has been classified as class I accessories according to the classification criteria out
lined in Annex IX of the directive. The declaration of conformity was therefore created by the man
ufacturer with sole responsibility according to Annex VII of the directive.
10.3 Warranty

fied personnel who fitted this product, or from the manufacturer's customer service department

10.4 Service life
Expected service life: 2 years.
