9. In order to ensure the minimum clearance of the block batteries to one another, push one
corrugated plate each between two block batteries.
10. Next, connect the block batteries to one another with the connectors and terminal screws
supplied according to Figure 4.
Both carriers must be connected in the same way for the sun | powerpack
two carriers (16.0/48 and 22.0/48). You may refer to the Figures of the 8.0/48 and 11.0/48
systems (see Figure 4) for the positioning of the blocks and the connection of the bock batteries
to one another.
DANGER!
Tighten the screws by hand initially in order to ensure that battery blocks and connectors can be
aligned once again.
Tighten the screws only after this with a torque wrench. The prescribed torque is 20 Nm ± 1 Nm.
It is very important to tighten the terminal screws carefully, as a loose connection will heat up
intensely, which could lead to inflammations or explosions.
After fixing the terminal screws, the connector must be checked for tight fit.
11. Next, mark the entire pus terminal and the entire minus terminal with the help of the markers
supplied on the respective block batteries.
12. Connect the entire plus terminal and the entire minus terminal with the contacts of the iso-
lator switch such that the middle contact remains open. Fix the appropriate connector (cable
lug insulated with plastic on one side) first to the flat connections of the isolator switch and
then to the battery. Fix the cable, if needed, with the help of the cable ties.
For the 8.0/24 and 11.0/24 systems there are two plus terminals and two minus terminal res-
pectively since four block batteries each are connected in parallel in the battery carrier. In this
case, both battery cables must be connected to the flange connections in parallel (see Figure 5).

13. The cable lugs must be fixed to the isolator switch with the following torque values: NH00
isolator switch: 12 - 15 Nm; NH2 isolator switch: 30 - 35 Nm.
For parallel connection of two battery carriers, the cable lugs must be installed the other way
round according to Figure 5. The M8x25 screws must be used in this case. For single connection,
the M8x12 screws must be used.
