5.3 Mounting the stirring paddle
The stirrers R50 and R50 D are equipped with a hollow shaft of 10.5 mm diameter. The chuck
is chromium-plated for prevention of corrosion. It takes any stirring rod up to 10 mm
diameter. The support rod (A) included in the delivery is used to attach the motor to a stand.
The stirrer R18 does not have a hollow shaft but also takes stirrers with a shaft diameter of up
to 10 mm.
Insert the stirring paddle into the chuck and firmly tighten it by hand in the desired

position.
The immersion depth of the stirring tool may be adjusted by loosening the chuck and

axially moving the stirring paddle.

We recommend to use the shaft
protector for secure working with the
stirrer (optional accessory Marienfeld
no. 7205227).
Attach the fastening rods (H) to the
stand rod in front of the shaft
protector using for example the
Jumbo
clamp
(Marienfeld
7205228).
Position
the
bores
protector next to the screws (J),
insert the screws (J) into the bores
and turn the protector to the right as
far as it will go.
The screw (L) is used to adjust the
overall height of the protector.
Check
that
the
protector is held in position securely
prior to each use and also at regular
intervals.
The position of the protector must be
adjusted only when the stirrer is
turned off and the power supply is
disconnected.
