The loose lead light will come on, and the alarm changes from beeping to continuous. This lets you know the
SmartMonitor 2, patient cable, and lead wires are working properly.
Now turn the monitor off.
Press and hold the blue RESET button.
Press and release the gray POWER button.
Wait 2 seconds, and then release the RESET button.

Self-Test Troubleshooting

Follow the instructions given below if any of the conditions described occur. Start the test over once the problem has been
corrected.
Alarm
Condition
Low Battery
If the low battery light stays on
longer than half a minute, the
batteries are completely
discharged.
Memory Full
The SmartMonitor 2 full memory
setting has been violated.
Loose Lead
Indicates loose or bad lead wires
and/or patient cable.
Solution
Turn the monitor off using the correct Power Off procedure
described in the Turning the Monitor off – Sibling Alarm
section in this manual.
Make sure the power cord/battery charger is plugged into a
live power outlet and is properly connected to the monitor.
(See Charging the Battery for more information).
Allow the SmartMonitor 2 battery to recharge for 6 hours. If
the monitor cannot be used because the battery is completely
discharged contact your Home Care Dealer.
Press the RESET button to silence the alarm. The SmartMonitor
2 memory needs to be transferred and cleared. Contact your
dealer for specific instructions.
Check all connections and/or replace lead wires first, then the
patient cable if necessary.
