Boss DF Construction Heaters
Connecting the Heater
to the Electrical Supply
Connect the three- prong power cord to an approved
120 VAC, 60 cycle, 1 phase, 15-amp electrical supply,
consisting of a ground circuit with proper electrical
polarity.
The heater must have a properly grounded electrical
supply, otherwise the ignition control will not be able to
prove fl ame. The heater will cycle on/off and
eventually shut-down.
A digital voltage meter is located on the control
panel to assist the user in identifying if proper
voltage is supplied to the heater during operation.
Observe the voltage meter during start-up and
operation to ensure the heater is receiving the
proper voltage (120 VAC) during operation.

-- Up to 50 ft. (15.2 m): Use 12 AWG conductor
-- Beyond 50 ft. (15.2 m): Use 10 AWG conductor

Start-Up Instructions
The heater includes a selector switch that allows the
grower to operate the equipment in HEAT
VENT . See Fig. 7.
IMPORTANT: When changing HEAT/VENT switch po-
sitions from one function to the other, DO NOT quickly
reposition the selector switch. Position the switch to
OFF and then select the switch function you want.
Heating
1. Ensure the heater is properly connected to the
electrical supply.
2. Open the fuel supply valve to the heater's gas inlet.
3. Set the fuel selector valve to the fuel being used at
the jobsite. (the heater is shipped from the factory
with the valve in the LP gas position).
4. Position the selector switch to HEAT
5. Set the heater's thermostat to a setting above room
temperature.
6. The heater will start.
ATTENTION:
The ignition control will attempt three ignition trials. If
ignition is not achieved after the third trial, the heater
will shut down. Refer to the troubleshooting section in
this manual or scan the QR code on the heater.
