Frost protection

If there is a risk of frost, you must drain the gas instan-
taneous water heater. This is the case if your water
pipes threaten to freeze. This is how to do it (see 5.7):
>
Close the stop cock on the cold water connection (6)
of the appliance by turning it clockwise as far as it
will go (a quarter turn).

>
Undo the hexagonal drain plug (1).

>
Open all hot water taps connected to the gas instan-
taneous water heater so that the appliance and pipes
are fully drained.
>
Leave the hot water taps and the drain plug open
until refilling the heater after the danger of frost is
over.
i
When subsequently filling the gas instantane-
ous water heater, only start it up when water
comes out of the open hot water taps after
you open the shut-off valve on the cold water
6
connection of the appliance. This ensures
that the gas instantaneous water heater is
completely filled with water.

Maintenance

Permanent operational readiness, reliability and a long
service life require inspections and maintenance work to
regularly carried out by a heating engineer.
a
Danger!
Risk of injury and material damage due to
incorrect maintenance and repairs!
If you fail to carry out maintenance, or if you
carry this out incorrectly, this may adversely
affect the operating reliability of the unit.
>
Never attempt to perform maintenance
work or repairs on your units by yourself.
>
Always employ a qualified specialist
tradesman.
5.9.1

Changing the battery

When the batteries (monocell type A) come to the end
of their service life, they must be replaced. This is
shown by the ignition voltage LED lighting up.
The battery compartment (1) is at the bottom of the
appliance on the left, and can be accessed without
removing the housing.
