Connecting gateway power supply.

The PROFIBUS DMT has a 9-pin D-sub socket for the connection
of a PROFIBUS ® cable. The pins are configured to PROFIBUS
standard (see below) and can be used with commercially available
bus plugs. Note that cable connections with these plug connectors
are usually rated only at enclosure rating IP 20 (contact and
moisture protection).
It is possible to achieve IP 65-compatible installation (contact and
moisture protection) with the 9-pin D-sub socket for the PROFIBUS
pump. In this case, however, the PROFIBUS
with IP 65-compliant M12 industrial plugs. You also need to connect
the DMT via a special Y-adapter or a cut-off adapter (see below).

IMPORTANT

• Enclosure rating IP 65 applies only to screwed plug
and socket combinations.
• It applies to a DMT without cabling only if the cover
supplied is attached to the 9-pin D-sub socket

Where ambient conditions require contact and moisture
protection in accordance with IP 65 you must use cables fitted
with IP 65-compliant M12 industrial plugs and dye cast 9-pin
D-sub plugs. A Y-adapter is used for the DMT connection. Two
ends of this adapter are fitted with M12 industrial plugs (one male
and one female) and a dye cast 9-pin D-sub plug for the DMT
contact.
