Fault
2 ONE PUMP IS NOT RUNNING.
3 LACK OF PRESSURE ON THE PRESSURE
SIDE.
4 HIGH SWITCHING FREQUENCY OF
CONTACTORS, FREQUENT ACTIVATION
OF THE PUMPS.
5 FREQUENT TRIGGERING OF PROTEC-
TION AGAINST LOW WATER LEVEL.
6 AUTOMATIC MODE IS DEFECTIVE.
7 NON-RETURN VALVE IS LEAKING.
Installation and operating instructions Wilo-COE-2 TWI5
Causes
a) The overload relay was triggered:
b) The magnetic circuit breaker was trig-
gered:
c) The pump shaft is jammed:
d) Winding failure:
e) Contactor coil is destroyed:
a) The volume flow demanded is greater
than the flow capacity of the system:
b) No suction on one or both pumps:
c) The water pressure of the supply net-
work is less than the required mini-
mum pressure:
d) Incorrect direction of rotation of the
pumps (in the case of the three-phase
version):
e) A pump is clogged with contaminants:
f) The voltage supplied to the motors is
insufficient:
a) Incorrect target pressure:
b) Installed diaphragm vessel is too
small:
c) No gas supply pressure in the vessel:
a) Protection against low water level is
set too high:
b) Drop in the water pressure from the
municipal network when the pumps
are switched on:
a) Connecting cable disconnected:
b) Control module is faulty:
a) The valve seal has been destroyed:
Remedy
a) The pump fault LED on the switchgear
must light up. Check the setting of
current intensity.
b) Switch back on
If the switch is triggered again, check
the current consumption of the motor in
question. If this current consumption is
significantly greater than that specified
on the motor, the motor is faulty and
must be replaced.
c) Cut off the power supply of the
switchgear, and then check the free-
dom of movement of the shaft. If the
shaft is jammed, the pump must be
dismantled.
d) Disconnect the terminal of the
affected motor; check the other ter-
minals and check the stator insula-
tion. If necessary, replace the pump.
e) Replace the contactor.
a) Replace the system with a more suit-
able one
(consult Wilo customer service).
b) Check that the suction strainer on the
break tank is not drawing in air and
that the break tank is not being filled
too close to the strainer.
c) Measures must be taken by the water
authority or the system must be
replaced. Consult Wilo customer
service.
d) Exchange two connecting cables
(phases) on the motor terminals with
each other.
e) Dismantle the pump and clean it.
f) Check voltage at the motor terminals
a) Adjust the settings
b) Install an additional diaphragm vessel.
c) Check the gas pressure in the vessel
and fill with gas or replace the dia-
phragm
a) Set the pressure switch correctly.
b) Set the protection against low water
level to minimum. If the problem per-
sists, the water supply network is not
sufficient; use a pressure gauge to
check the pressure when the pumps
are switched on or, if necessary, con-
tact the water authority.
a) Check all connections on the switch-
gear's terminal.
b) Attach the bypass module to the base
of the control module.
a) Replace the valve.
