Fixation with spring levers
After placing the model pairs on the universal
E N
plate, mount the fixation spring levers.
NOTE:
It is recommended to use at least two fixation
spring levers to achieve a uniform distribution of
the hold-down pressure and to prevent the
model pairs from tilting.
The position of the fixation pins and the fixation
spring levers can be adjusted.
▷ Insert the respective fixation pin into a hole of
the universal holder that is suitable for fixation
of the model.

Articulator scan

The articulator is used for affixing model pairs
that are in occlusion. By positioning the articula-
tor in the scanner, the model pair in occlusion is
transferred to the software.
The articulator must be placed in the scanner in
the specified preferential direction. With the Artex
CR, a condyloid-related transmission is possible.
42
For vestibular scans, any articulator can be used
without further aids. In this case, the assignment
of upper and lower jaws is based on average value,
and not condyloid-related as with the Artex CR.

▷ Ensure that the occlusion model is correctly
articulated.
▷ Unscrew upper supporting pin [1] from the artic-
ulator.
Inserting an articulator without the corre-
sponding software command can cause
the articulator to fall down. This can cause
damage to the scanner, the articulator or
the models.
