Manual entries are only allowed in the
centre field (5) of the chart. They are
required by law and are of the basis of
subsequent chart analysis.

The red rear side (Figure III)
Models 1318-24 and -27 only.
Recording field for time groups (1)
This recording field is used for manual
time group entries. Manual entries are
required if the crew members work away
from the vehicle and therefore are not
able to operate the tachograph, or else in
case of failure of the time group recording
mechanism.
Approval marks field (2)
The rear side also provides information
about approval numbers of the tacho-
graph chart and the tachographs in which
it may be used.
Centre field (3)
Up to three vehicle changes can be
entered in the centre field.
The following entries must be made:
time of vehicle change
the registration number of new
vehicle
odometer reading at start of journey
odometer reading at end of journey
distance travelled.
