6. Cable Operation
Operation of ILSR Installation:
The ILSR system is to be operated only when there is a risk of pipe freeze-up. Adjust thermostat (if used) to
ensure cable is only energized when necessary. It is recommended to use the EasyHeat SL3 thermostat to
improve energy efficiency and cable life expectancy.
Operation of ILSR System:
Energize the system by plugging the heating cable into a 120 VAC power receptacle. If a thermostat, such
as the Easy Heat SL3 (sold separately) is used, connect the thermostat into a 120 VAC power supply and
then plug the heating cable into the thermostat. Test the GFI cordset by setting the thermostat
control to the maximum setting - the red light on the GFI cordset should then be illuminated. Push the "test"
button on the GFI cordset to test; a distinct "click" should be heard and the power to the heating cable will
be disconnected (red light will be off) Push the "Reset" button on the GFI cordset to reset the system for
normal operation. Return the thermostat control knob to the usual setting. No light on the GFI cordset
indicates either a fault in the system or no power.
Please note that the GFI cordset should be tested regularly to ensure proper operation of the protection.
WaRnIng: If the GFI cordset trips and cannot be reset, then the cable is damaged and must be repaired or
replaced.
