PREBENA compressor
4.
MAINTENANCE
4.1.
Notes
Periodic maintenance work is required in order to keep the compressor in good working order
at all times.
The compressor must be switched off and depressurised prior to any maintenance work.
An operating--hour counter is installed in the motor switch box (3, Fig. 3).
4.2.
After the first 50 operating hours:
All screws/bolts must be checked for tightness: in particular the valve head
bolts and those of the supporting frame.
Never mix different oil types. Use only lube oils approved by Prebena. Never
use oils used in motor vehicles or machines.
Oil is an environmental pollutant. Contact the responsible authorities regarding
disposal.
Replace the lubricating oil completely with one of the lubricating oils specified in
the lubricating oil list.
4.3.
Weekly or as required:
Check the oil level (Fig. 4) and top up as necessary; do not exceed the maxi-
mum level. An oil level below the minimum may lead to seizing and severe
damage.
Drain the condensed water by opening the valve under the condensate
reservoir.
4.4.
Monthly (or more frequently if the compressor is operated in particularly
dusty environments):
Remove the intake filter and replace or clean the filter element (Fig. 5).
Never operate the compressor without an intake filter. The ingress of foreign
bodies or dust can cause severe damage to internal components.
