INITIAL OPERATION
3.1.
Set- -up
In order to prevent damage to the compressor it must never be operated on
inclines of more than 5 degrees in the lateral or longitudinal directions.
In order to ensure adequate ventilation the compressors must be set up such
that the rear ventilation grille is positioned at a distance of at least 50 cm from
any possible obstruction to the air flow and that cleaning and maintenance can
be performed with ease.
The ambient temperature must not be less than + 5 °C and must not exceed + 40 °C. Set up
the compressor in a dry, well--ventilated and dust--free location.
3.2.
Preparation for operation
Each compressor is delivered only after having successfully completed a series of functional
tests at the manufacturer's. For optimum operation, please observe the following measures
and recommendations.
-- Ensure that the mains voltage is the same as the voltage indicated on the label.
-- Ensure that the oil level is between the minimum and maximum marks on the oil dipstick.
If the compressor is delivered without oil, fill up with 360 ml of lubricating oil from the oil pack
supplied.
-- After the first 50 hours of operation, change the oil with one of the oil types specified in the
lubricating oil list.
The compressor is equipped with a type CEE 7 mains plug. Have the plug replaced by quali-
fied personnel if necessary or if stipulated by local regulations.
Screw the KT--3500 cartridge(s) to be filled by hand into the connector. Do not use any tools.
3.3.
Operation
When first switching on the compressor, run it with one or two cartridges fitted.
Check that the cylinders are filled and that the compressor is switched off
automatically when the maximum pressure of 310 bar (indicated on pressure
gauge) is reached.
-- Insert the plug in the socket and press the green I button (1, Fig. 3).
-- The cartridge and connector are equipped with an automatic valve. The cartridge can be
screwed into and out of the connector prior to or during operation (Fig. 6).
