7.1.2 Fitting the shaft cover
Only use the right Wilo shaft covers, because
only these are designed for the plastic shaft and
ensure maximum safety!
WARNING! Risk of injury!
People may fall into the open shaft and suffer
serious injury. Make sure the shaft cover is
properly secured!
The following table shows in which cases the
uppermost inner reinforcement ring must be
removed from the plastic shaft:

To remove the inner reinforcement ring (Fig. 5)
• With a hammer, tap the uppermost inner rein-
forcement ring at the fracture groove on the plas-
tic shaft (Fig. 5a), until the ring is detached over
the entire perimeter (Fig. 5b).
• Clean and smooth the broken edge.
Plastic PE shaft cover (Fig. 6)
• In the case of a shortened plastic shaft, level and
smooth the cut edge.
• Bolt the shaft cover in position to prevent unau-
thorised opening!
- Make at least 3 x ø 6 mm holes (item 5) in 3 of the
5 centring bosses (item 4) on the shaft cover
(item 1).
- Choose opposite centring bosses wherever pos-
sible.
- Make the holes (item 5) through the cover
(item1) and integrated seal (item 2) as close as
possible to the centring bosses (item 4) on the
bottom of the cover.
• Place the shaft cover (item 1) with integrated seal
(item 2) firmly in position.
• Screw in the screws 5.5x60 provided (item 3) from
the top so that they are pressed between the cen-
tring bosses and the shaft wall (item 6).
• Make sure the shaft cover is properly secured
Shaft covers classes A and B EN 124 (Fig. 7)
• In the case of a shortened plastic shaft, level and
smooth the cut edge.
• Place the cast iron supporting ring (item 1) firmly
on the end of the plastic shaft (item 2.)
• Position the cover (item 3) so that it lies flush in
the recess of the cast iron supporting ring.
• Make sure the shaft cover is properly secured

Shaft cover class D EN 124 (Fig. 8)
• Level and compact the soil around the plastic
shaft, taking into account the height of the shaft
cover!
• Place the cast iron supporting ring (item 1) on the
ground so that that it is fully in contact with it.
• Position the cover (item 3) so that it lies flush in
the recess of the cast iron supporting ring.
• Make sure the shaft cover is properly secured

7.2 Electrical connection

DANGER! Danger of death!
A fatal shock may occur if the electrical connec-
tion is not made correctly.
• Only use an electrical installer approved by the
local electricity supplier to make the connec-
tion.
• Follow the installation and operating instruc-
tions for the pump, level control and other
accessories!
8 Commissioning and operation
CAUTION! Risk of damage!
Dirt and solids as well as incorrect commission-
ing can lead to damage to the pump station or
individual components in operation.
• Before commissioning, clean the pump station
to remove dirt, particularly solids.
• Follow the installation and operating instruc-
tions for the pump, level control and other
accessories!
Commission as follows:
• Open the shaft cover.
• Open the gate valve in the pressure pipe com-
pletely.
• Commission the pump, level control and other
accessories.
• Observe at least two switch-on/switch-off cycles
and check that the pump is functioning properly
and that the level control is set correctly.
• Fit the shaft cover and check that it is firmly
seated.
