Switching the appliance ON/OFF
To switch on the appliance, proceed as fol-
lows:
1. Insert the plug into the mains socket.
2. Turn the thermostat (4) clockwise from
level 1 to level 5 to increase the temperature
and anticlockwise to decrease the tempera-
ture.
To switch off the appliance, proceed as fol-
lows:
1. Turn the thermostat (4) anticlockwise until
it stops.
2. Pull the plug out of the mains socket.
NOTE

The temperature remains high for a
while after switching off the appliance.

Allow the appliance to cool down com-
pletely.
Startup
Unpacking
1. Remove the appliance, all accessory
parts and the user manual from the box.
2. Remove all packaging materials and pro-
tective foils from the product and the acces-
sories before using it for the first time.
3. Check for visible signs of damage or
missing items.
NOTE

Never remove the rating plate or any
warning signs on the appliance.

Keep the original packaging during the
warranty or guarantee period in order to
return the appliance in the packaging in
the event of a warranty or guarantee claim.
Transport damage will invalidate the war-
ranty or guarantee.
NOTE
►
The grill plate (3) has a ceramic non-
stick coating (BIO-LON KERAMIK). It pre-
vents food from sticking. It is also resistant
to scratching, high temperatures, can be
cleaned easily and is environment friendly.
Before using for the first time
1. Clean the appliance as described in
the section Cleaning and maintenance
(page 16).
2. Fill the drip tray with water and place the
heating element onto the drip tray (image A1).
