General cleaning

Cleaning the exterior

Wipe the exterior of the printer with a lint free cloth.

Cleaning the printhead

Clean the printhead at every ribbon change, or more often if streaks start appearing or the ribbon
has torn.
This procedure requires the PrismPlus cleaning kit (PN 210555-001). This kit includes the
necessary cleaning pads and solution.
1. Prepare the PrismPlus.
a. Power down the PrismPlus.
b. Remove the top cover.
c. Remove the ribbon. Refer to Changing the print ribbon on page 18.
d. While pressing the operator button, power on the PrismPlus.
e. When the Disc Not Present indicator light flashes, release the operator button.
2. Prepare the cleaning pad.
a. Remove the adhesive backing from the cleaning pad.
b. Adhere the cleaning pad to the top of a disc.
3. Clean the printhead.
a. Place the cleaning pad with attached
disc on the tray.
b. Press the pad down over the sensor.
c. Place 5 drops of cleaning solution on
the cleaning pad.
