FUNCTION
The Carp-X is a dynamic orthosis for the treatment of lateral
epicondylitis.
The orthosis consists of two plates of PET-G, linked by two memorymetal
springs made of a nickel-titanium alloy. Using the agonistantagonist
principle, the painful extensors are given sufficient rest for a rapid and
effective recovery.

SIDE-EFFECTS
No serious side effects are known, given expert application and correct
fitting.
CHOOSING THE SIZES
Two measurements are required in determining the correct size for the
Carp-X plates.
1. Determining the size of the hand plate (Figure 1). Determine which
hand the Carp-X must be fitted on: left or right. Lay the hand flat on
an even surface with the palm up. Measure the width of the hand just
above the base of the thumb and determine the correct plate size
from the table below. In case of doubt, choose the larger size.

2. Determining the size of the arm plate (Figure 2). Measure the
circumference of the lower arm about 10 cm from the middle of the
ulna styloid process. Determine the correct size on the basis of the
table below. In case of doubt, choose the smaller size.

COMPONENTS
Carp-X consists of the following components:
• The arm plate with hook and loop strap, covering and loose pieces of
hook and loop
• 2 separate springs with 4 screws and 1 spare screw
• The hand plate
• 2 end caps + 1 spare, matching the diameter of the springs
• Glue
