Housing protection degrees:
Dear Customer, we congratulate you on your accurate choice of high quality
ultraviolet sterilizer intended for water sterilization in fish tanks, which perfectly co-
operates with other types of aquarium filters.
DEVICE SPECIFICATIONS
Water pumped through the device flows in a thin layer directly in the field of operation
of UV-C ultraviolet radiation, which destroys algae, bacteria and other pathogenic
organisms. Due to the sterilizer's operation, water in your fish tank remains pure all
the time in the biological sense, and the fish and plants live in a comfortable and
healthy environment – you can forget green water with algae forever.
Distinguishing features of the STERILIZERUV:
• QUARTZMIRROR = 50% UV-C EXTRA – the external wall of the active purifying
chamber is made as a mirror on quartz glass, which reflects back a major part of
the ultraviolet radiation after it passes through the water, generating in this way
its repeated action,
• total submersibility – possibility of application both inside and outside the aquarium
• small size – designed specifically for aquarium needs,

Prior to installation and every start of the device read the present operating and
assembly manual carefully.
Upon launching, maintenance and other work in the water tank, disconnect all
electric devices located in the tank from the power grid by pulling the plugs from
the supply sockets.
The device produces radiation harmful to the skin and eyes. Never turn on the
device with the housing removed!
The device may be powered only from a power grid of nominal parameters
(voltage and frequency) specified on the device housing from a supply socket
located in a dry place.

A device that is damaged or has a damaged power cord must not be used. The
condition of the power c.ord should be checked prior to every start-up of the
device. The power cord must not be repaired, replaced or have any additional
elements installed. In case of damaging the cord the entire device should be
replaced.

ding to the following:
1. turn the fitting grip (10) clockwise, according to the „OUT" arrow (fig.),
2. remove the fitting (10),
FZKN
3. press the fluorescent lamp (8) into the fitting (10) until locked,
450
NOTE: Do not touch the fluorescent lamp glass; remove possible marks with a
dry cloth
4. place the fitting (10) along with the fitted fluorescent lamp (8) in the quartz housing
(7)
II. CONNECT THE STERILIZER TO THE WATER CIRCUIT
NOTE: Water flowing through the sterilizer should be mechanically filtered (by the
preliminary filter).
The sterilizer may be installed both inside (immersing it totally) and outside the
aquarium. It should be fed with a pump or aquarium filter. The transparent stub pipes
allow for connection of hoses of various diameters. Examples of connection of the
sterilizer are shown on figures , , .
Additionally, some AQUAEL pumps and aquarium filters are adapted for direct con-
nection or even installation of the sterilizer lamp in the filter housing.
Figure shows connection of the sterilizer in total submersion to a CIRCULATOR
aquarium pump or a TURBO FILTER. This possibility is rendered by the new output
controller for these pumps (cat. no.: 1500) produced as of May 2004.
NOTE: For the purpose of problem-free deaeration, the UV sterilizer should be
positioned slightly inclined, so that the outlet opening is the highest point of the
sterilizer.
COOPERATION WITH AQUAEL FZKN CANISTER FILTERS
During installation of the sterilizer in a FZKN filter, the filter container must be
empty (bins with filter elements removed) and cleaned.
