The high-performance SCHUBERTH F 130 fi refi ghter helmet you have selected is a
quality product specially developed to withstand extremely high levels of thermal
stress. It conforms to the standard EN 443:2008. Protective helmets are part of
personal protection equipment and play a key role in preventing or at least
decisively reducing the extent of head injuries. Please take time to read through
this manual carefully to ensure you do not overlook any aspects that are relevant
your safety.
The most important changes to EN 443:2008 in summary
New requirements:
Classifi cation of helmet form into Type A (open-face helmet) and Type B
(full-face helmet)
Increased resistance to fl ame (fl ame-engulfment test)
Visor tested to EN 14458
Effectiveness and strength of the retaining system
Protective characteristics against molten metal and hot objects
No visible damage after contact with liquid chemicals (optional)
Increased requirements:
Resistance to radiant heat (14 kW/m²)
Followed by penetration test: for this, the weight is increased from 400g
to 1000g
Electrical insulation capacity (E1, E2, E3)
The SCHUBERTH F 130 conforms to helmet form A and satisfi es the
requirements of EN 443:2008.

Notes on use of the helmet
The SCHUBERTH F 130 fi refi ghter helmet is designed for use in fi refi ghting in
buildings and other structures, rescue and salvage activities, for work associated
with road accidents and generally for activities within the scope of a fi reman's
duties. Use for any other purpose is to be ruled out and will release SCHUBERTH
from any and all liability.
Important! This helmet only gives full protection when sitting optimally on your
head, the headband is properly adjusted to your head circumference and the
chinstrap is closed. Detachable parts may not be worn/used separately.
Only wear the helmet when it is fully assembled.
Important! This helmet is designed to absorb the effect of only one impact. In the
same way as the crumple zone of a car's bodywork, the F 130 absorbs a strong
force acting on it through complete or partial destruction of the helmet shell and
lining structures. You should therefore replace the helmet with a new one if it has
been subjected to heavy impact or forces.
Liability for functioning and damage
Liability for the functioning of the SCHUBERTH F 130 fi refi ghter helmet in all
cases passes to the owner or operator to the extent that the helmet is improperly
serviced or repaired by persons other than staff of SCHUBERTH GmbH or in the
event that it is used for any application other than its intended purpose.
SCHUBERTH GmbH will accept no liability for damage caused by or arising from
non-compliance with these user instructions.
