6. Tubing Care

Supplies needed:
• Mild dish soap
• Clean dish towel
• Clean sink or bowl
• Drinking quality water
Parts needed:
• Tubing
• Symphony
®
• Membrane cap (Symphony)
• Protective membrane
(Symphony)
• Piston (Lactina)
• Cylinder (Lactina)
• Pump connector (Lactina)

Turn off breast pump.

Rinse tubing in cool water to
remove breast milk.

• Inspect tubing after each pumping
session.
Note
If there is condensation in the tubing:
Shake water droplets out of tubing and
hang it up to dry or let the pump run
with tubing attached for 1-2 minutes or
until dry.

Turn off breast pump.

Unplug breast pump from
power source.

• Wash tubing in warm soapy water.
• Rinse tubing with clear water.
• Hang to air dry or shake out any
drops of water from the tubing and
let the pump run with tubing attached
until dry.
