• Operating Instructions
These Operating Instructions describe how to use
the prodct properly and safely. The safety advice and
information as well as the accident prevention and
general safety regulations for the field of application
must be complied with.
All persons using the gate system
must be shown how to operate it
properly and safely.
Keep hand transmitters out of the reach
of children.
When the operator is being used, the
opening and closing phases must be
monitored. It must be ensured that
neither persons nor objects are located
within the gate's range of travel.
• Normal operation (0)
(factory-set operating mode)
Operating modes
IThe respective setting for menu 9 is shown in
brackets.
Normal operation (0)
(factory-set operating mode)
The sliding gate operator can be actuated by an
impulse generator, such as hand transmitter, key
switch etc. It is only necessary to generate a short,
sharp impulse.
Functional sequence:
First impulse:
Operator starts up and causes gate to travel to set
open or closed travel limits.
IImpulse generated whilst gate is moving:
Gate stops.
A new impulse:
Gate continues to move but in opposite direction.
Partial opening
Partial opening of approx. 1 m instead of full opening
can be triggered by the hand tranmsitter or another
command generator.
OPEN-CLOSE operation (1)
In same operating mode as for single-lane control,
however, receiver remains plugged into operator.
Functional sequence:
Impulse generation in the closed position:
Operator starts up and gate travels to open position.
IImpulse generation whilst gate is opening:
No effect, gate continues to open.
Impulse generation in the open position:
Gate closes.
Impulse generated whilst gate closes:
Gate stops and then reopens.
Operation with single-lane control (1)
Red-green traffic light control is only possible
together with the additional A800 traffic light control
system. Generating an impulse always causes the
gate to open. After the green and clearance phase
has elapsed, gate automatically closes. If a new
opening impulse is generated during the green
phase, this is extended.
Caution:
you may only drive through the gateway
during the green phase.
Retain these installation, operating and maintenance instructions for the full duration of the operator's service life!
Automatic closing (2)
Generating an impulse always causes the gate to
open.
After the hold-open phase and the advance warning
phase have elapsed, the gate automatically closes.
Automatic closing (3)
Generating an impulse always causes the gate to
open.
After the hold-open phase and the advance warning
phase have elapsed, the gate automatically closes.
If the photocell is interrupted, the hold-open phase is
prematurely terminated and the advance warning
phase commences.
Automatic closing (4)
Generating an impulse always causes the gate to
open.
After the hold-open phase and the advance warning
phase have elapsed, the gate automatically closes.
If an impulse is generated, the hold-open phase is
prematurely terminated and the advance warning
phase commences.
Functions of the safety devices
IInternal force limit device
If the closing gate encounters an obstruction, the
operator stops and causes the gate to open to clear
the obstruction.
During the soft run of the closing phase, the gate is
opened a slight gap only, just sufficient to clear the
obstruction.
If during the opening phase the gate encounters an
obstruction, the operator stops and causes the gate
to reverse for approx. 1 sec.
Photocell
IIf a photocell is installed, an interruption during the
closing phase causes the gate to stop and then travel
in the opposite direction. An interruption while the
gate is opening has no effect.
Signal light
If a signal light to signal the opening and closing
phases is installed, this starts to flash as soon as a
start impulse is given. The operator starts up in
accordance with the set advance warning phase.
During the flashing phase, driving through the
gateway is not permitted.
Disengaging the operator
17
When making adjustments and in the event of power
failures or malfunctions, the operator can be
disengaged and the gate be moved by hand. Open
and remove the cover with the triangular wrench.
Pull the pull cord with knob, 8 is displayed. The gate
can now be opened and closed by hand.
To resume power-operation, actuate the lever and
the operator re-engages. Replace the cover and lock
in place with the triangular wrench.
Hand transmitter
Programming further hand transmitters:
See menu stages 1 and 2 (figures 21 and 22).
Changing the battery: Slide back the battery
compartment cover on the hand transmitter.
Take out the battery.
Insert a new battery (alkaline 23A, 12V). Be sure to
pole correctly! Slide the cover back on.
Empty batteries must be disposed of separately
(toxic waste)!

• Maintenance / Checks

The gate system must be inspected and
tested by a specialist company prior to
initial operation and at least once a year
thereafter.
Monitoring the force limit
The operator control unit features a dual-processor
safety system to monitor the force limit.
The integral force cut-out is automatically tested at
each travel limit.
The gate system must be checked prior to initial
operation and at least once a year thereafter, In the
process, the force limiting device (figure 20) must be
tested!
Caution!
If the closing force is set too high,
persons can be placed at risk of injury or
property could sustain damage.
