LOOK INTRODUCTION
We congratulate you on your choice of LOOK bindings. You have chosen a high quality
product with advanced technology which will increase your skiing enjoyment.
Your LOOK bindings have been engineered to release the ski from the boot when
loads exceed the release setting and to retain the ski during controlled maneuvers.
Despite these features, no ski/binding/boot system will protect you in all situations.
Appropriately functioning ski/binding/boot system will not release under all injury
producing circumstances. Skiing, like all sports, involves a certain degree of risk which
must be recognized and accepted.
LIMITED WARRANTY
LOOK ski bindings carry a "Limited Warranty" against any manufacturing defects
for two years from date of purchase. The only obligation of LOOK will be to repair or
replace the bindings at our discretion.
This warranty extends only to the original user, to whose the bindings were mounted
and adjusted according to international standards, by a qualified LOOK technician
or a qualified retailer who took into account boots, weight, height, age, and skier
Classification. In the event that you change boots or skis, it is recommended that a
qualified retailer readjusts the bindings to the new equipment.
This warranty does not extend to rental products.
The non-compliance with assembly and use instructions will release LOOK from any
guarantee obligation.
This warranty does not extend to damage resulting from an incorrect mounting or an
incorrect adjustment, except when they are done by us misuse, neglect or abuse,
normal wear and tear, accident, exterior appearance or colour.
In no event shall LOOK be liable for incidental or consequential damages. Some
countries or states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you. In this event, you should
contact your qualified retailer or qualified LOOK technician.
There are no other warranties, express or implied.
IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS
• Mounting and adjustment by a qualified LOOK technician or a qualified retailer along
with regular maintenance and a boot in good condition are important for the proper
functioning of your ski/binding/boot system. No bindings will operate correctly with
boots which do not comply with current appropriate international standards.
• Ask your qualified LOOK technician or qualified retailer to explain the use and the
maintenance of your ski/binding/boot system. It is important that a qualified retailer,
with proper tools and information make any adjustments to the ski/binding/boot
system.
• Make sure that your clothing (pants) or other equipment does not impair the
functioning of the ski binding or of the ski brake.
• Even though we are sure LOOK ski bindings deliver an excellent level of
performance, skiing is a hazardous sport with inherent and other risks of injury.
When skiing on steep powder trails the ski brake may not be able to adequately stop
the ski.
Any improper use of the binding or alterations of any kind concerning parts of
the binding or the ski brake increases the risk of the ski/binding/boot system not
functioning correctly.
All LOOK combinations of bindings, lifters and plates, have been designed and built
to comply with existing standards, including the operation of the ski brake and the
resistance of extraction of screws.
The use of double lifters or non-LOOK lifters may have a negative effect on the
performance of the binding or the brake. Indeed, some products may not be

compatible with each other.
It is the qualified retailer's responsibility to check the compatibility of the products, and
to inspect that the products, once assembled, operate as intended in terms of security.
MOUNTING
Your LOOK binding is designed to offer you maximum protection and performance.
Mounting and adjustment must only be executed by a qualified LOOK technician or a
qualified retailer. We recommend that you do not alter the release values adjusted by the
qualified LOOK technician or the qualified retailer.
ADJUSTMENTS – RELEASE SETTINGS
The adjustment of your bindings must be executed by a qualified retailer or a qualified
LOOK technician who has the necessary technical knowledge to adjust the ski/binding/
boot system correctly.
More particularly, the release value adjustment depends on the weight, height, age,
skier Classification and boot size of the skier. An incorrect adjustment may have a
serious impact on the performance of the system.
It is highly recommended that you use a measuring device to check the release
torques (see. ISO 11110).
DISCRETIONARY SETTINGS
Your normal indicator settings comply with international standards. Although these
guidelines may be inappropriate for some types of competitive skiing or competition
training, they are believed to provide an effective compromise between the release and
retention needs of most recreational skiers.
Adhering to these guidelines may help to reduce the risk of injuries resulting from
improper indicator setting selection. However, skiing involves inherent risks. Injury
can result from simply falling down, impact with an object, or from many other actions.
Many injuries are unrelated to the function of the release system. Furthermore, even a
properly adjusted ski/binding/boot system cannot protect the skier in all situations.
Difficulties with release or retention may be unrelated to indicator settings. They can result
from your skiing style, the incompatibility of your boots and bindings, wear, damage, or
contamination of the release system. Be sure to describe your circumstances to the shop
technician and to authorize recommended inspections and repairs before proceeding.
If you have been dissatisfied with the indicator settings that result from your normal
skier classification, you may wish to consider changing your skier classification,
designating skier type classifications that are different for twist and forward lean, or
request discretionary indicator settings that are higher or lower than the normal range.
Lower settings correspond to an increase in the risk of inadvertent binding release in
order to gain increased releasability in a fall.
Higher settings correspond to a decrease in releasability in a fall in order to gain a
decreased risk of inadvertent binding release.
Although a qualified LOOK technician or qualified retailer may help you to record your
choice on the appropriate form, the final decision on your indicator settings is yours.
BINDING USE INSTRUCTIONS
Since ski/binding/boot systems respond to forces from the lower leg, it is important that
all boot buckles are fastened securely while skiing.
Before stepping into the binding, make sure your boots are free from snow, dirt or other
foreign elements.
Stepping-in (Fig. 1 – 2):
Make sure the heel cup of your binding is open, with the heel lever in the low position.
Place the toe of your boot under the toe piece. Place the heel of your boot on the heel
cup treadle and step-in firmly.
Stepping-out (Fig. 3 – 4):
Put your ski pole on the heel lever and push firmly while lifting your foot.
Transport position:
Place the skis vertically with one resting on the ground, sliding the other on top of the
first, until the brake arms engage one in the other.
MAINTENANCE
Proper maintenance will help your ski/binding/boot system function
properly :
• At the start of the season and every 30 skiing days, go to a qualified retailer for a
binding inspection.
• Before each use, inspect the AFD (Antifriction Device) or the piece of Teflon
the base of the foot, for wear or damage. Have it replace by a qualified retailer if
necessary (if it is broken or damaged)
• Inspect that the brake arms work freely.
• To clean your ski bindings, use soapy water. Do not use warm water, water under
pressure or solvents.
Precautionary maintenance:
• If you are transporting your skis on the roof of your car, cover the binding with a
binding cover or a ski bag so they will not be exposed to excessive dirt and road
salts. Do not, however, leave your skis in a ski bag for extended periods of time.
• Store your ski equipment in a warm dry spot overnight to lessen the chance of ice
accumulation.
• Significant wear of the boot sole will have an adverse effect on the function of the ski/
binding/boot system. Avoid walking on rough surfaces with your ski boots.
• If anything appears to be wrong with your ski bindings, consult your qualified retailer.
WTR
Alpine bindings equipped with WTR Technology are intended to be used only
with alpine ski boots compliant with DIN/ ISO 5355 standard or "WTR Technology"
labelled soles. Using these bindings with other ski boots could negatively affect the
performance of the ski/binding/boot system.
Skiers are advised to consult a qualified retailer for further information regarding which
ski boots meet the standards listed above.
Warning
Your ski/binding/boot system does not guarantee you will release at all times nor
under all circumstances and it is not possible to predict every situation in which it
will release and therefore does not constitute a guarantee of absolute safety.
