VCI Manager program
The "VCI Manager" program is a comput-
er application that installs on your Win-
dows computer to configure and update
Mastertech II VCI.

System requirements
The Mastertech II VCI is set up and updated
via the "VCI Manager" software. To use the
Mastertech II VCI for OE programming and
diagnostics, you must use the OE supplied
application(s).

refer to use of the "VCI Manager" soft-
ware. The OE software requirements may
differ.

(32-bit and 64-bit)

100 MB free hard disk space

512 MB RAM

Operation
The following sections provide the in-
formation needed to begin using the
Mastertech II VCI, including installing the
"VCI Manager" software, updating the firm-
ware on the device, configuring connection
methods, and communicating with the
vehicle.
5.1
Installation notes

for the user software.
5.2
Installing the VCI Manager
software
The "VCI Manager" software must be in-
stalled on the computer in order to config-
ure, update, and run diagnostic applications
targeted for the computer. Initially you use
the "VCI Manager" software to set up the
configuration of each Mastertech II VCI.

tion on downloading and installing the
"VCI Manager" software from the Quick
Start Guide that was delivered with
your tool, or by visiting www.boschdi-
agnostics.com/pro and going to the
Mastertech II VCI product page.

Setting up the diagnostic
device hardware
5.3.1
Identifying your diagnostic device
The rating label is located on the back of
Mastertech II VCI. The Mastertech II VCI
identification number has two parts: a
manufacturing code for traceability and a
unique serial number. The serial number
is used to identify the Mastertech II VCI
in the "VCI Manager" software. You will
need to refer to this serial number when
you are using VCI Manager to configure
