Troubleshooting
This section is intended to help you get
back on track if the Mastertech II VCI
appears to be operating abnormally. If the
error is not eliminated by the indicated rem-
edy, it is necessary to contact Service.
6.1
Mastertech II VCI error LED

Recommendations
1. Power down the
Mastertech II VCI
verify that the same problem exists when
you power up again.
2. Connect the
Mastertech II VCI
computer using USB and perform the
recovery procedure.
6.2
The Mastertech II VCI fails
to power up
Mastertech II VCI
should power up as
soon as external power is applied. If
Mastertech II VCI
does not turn on, first
check the cable connections. Try supplying
power to
Mastertech II VCI
ent power sources – the vehicle DLC and the
USB connector.

If the
power on Pin 16 of the diagnostic connec-
tion cable,
the user by automatically turning on and
flashing the vehicle LED red. This condition
might be seen if
powered by a 5V USB connection or if the
diagnostic connection cable has accidently
been displaced from the vehicle DLC and is
powered from the backup capacitor. When
