The devices with TURBINE 170 are designed and certified to function with the following SPASCIANI filter models:
‐ 100 P3 R (cod. 124150000) – anti‐dust filter, with P R SL protection according to EN 12941 and EN 12942
‐ 202 A2B2E2P3 R (cod. 123350000) – combined filter, with A1B2E2 P R SL protection according to EN 12941 and EN
12942
‐ 202 A2B2P3 R (cod. 123320000) – combined filter, with A1B2 P R SL protection according to EN 12941 and EN
12942
The filters are equipped with a normalised threaded connection EN 148‐1 and have to be connected, as a couple, to
the two attachments for filters which can be found on the ventilation unit.
For the performance provided by the ventilation filters with different types of filters see tab. 2.
ATTENTION: The marking according to EN 12941 and EN 12942 in Example C at the end of this information leaflet
should not be confused with markings that are related to other applicable standards (e.g.: EN 143 and EN 14387).
For further information please consult the instructions enclosed with the filters.

3. WARNINGS/LIMITATIONS
- The filtering fans with masks/helmets/hoods should not be used for emergency situations or in environments
where the concentration of pollutants poses an immediate danger for the operator's life. For the maximum
concentrations of use, please refer to the table annexed to the filters' instructions, and in any case one should
never exceed concentrations of 400 times the TLV (for definitions please refer to European standard EN 529).
- The apparatus is designed in such a way that it can be used during the decontamination shower, however during
decontamination it has to be worn and functioning.
- Do not use the devices in atmospheres with an oxygen content which is inferior to 17% in volume, or even in
closed environments such as tanks, pipes, canals, etc.
- Do not use the apparatus in environments with high explosion risk.
- In case of heavy work, during respiration a negative pressure may build up in the hood reducing the protection
factor.
- Never change or modify the devices, as this may result in a reduction of the protection provided to the user.
- WARNING: The apparatus is designed to provide adequate protection only when it is switched on. If the
apparatus is switched off, this may result in an increase of CO
emergency situation will enable the operator to breathe filtered air through the tube, therefore this set‐up is
more adequate for interventions in high risk zones. The interruption of the ventilator, however, is an anomalous
situation, and the user should immediately leave the work area should this happen.
- Moreover, one must immediately leave the work area if: there is an emergency situation, breathing becomes
difficult, one becomes dizzy or feels unwell, one can smell or taste the flavour of the contaminated substance, or
one feels any irritation.
- WARNING: before switching on the filter fan in a contaminated area, one must ensure that the filters are already
connected and suitable for the pollutants which are present. If this is not the case, the inside of the turbine could
become irreversibly contaminated, as it is not possible to decontaminate the internal surface of the ventilator.
The polluting agents could ultimately also damage the internal electronic and mechanical components, thus
causing the apparatus to stop working.
- Ensure that the hood/helmet/mask perfectly fits the user's face. The system's protection factor decreases if the
operator wears a beard or long hair which may impede a perfect adjustment to the face.
- Ensure that the air pipe does not coil, is not squeezed or does not get caught on an object in the work
environment.
