combination harness. The mounting bracket should be attached
directly to the tow vehicle's bumper or other stable surface, such as a
Hitch Attachment Bracket (Valley Part No. 32432). The connectors
must be mounted in an area within reach of the trailers wiring harness,
near the center of the tow vehicle. Mount the combinaton harness to
the vehicle utilizing the supplied mounting bracket.
5. Using the bracket as a template, drill two 7/64" holes into the
mounting surface. Secure the bracket to the vehicle using self tapping
screws (provided).
Caution: Do not drill into any exposed surfaces or through
the vehicle body.
Warning: Never attach the mounting bracket directly to the
hitch by cutting, welding or drilling into the hitch.
6. Attach the harness connectors to the mounting bracket:
7-Way Connector: Feed the entire
harness through the large opening
of the mounting bracket and
position the connector against the
face of the mounting bracket. Attach
using the mounting screws provided
(Fig. 4).
4-Flat Connectors: Slide the 4-flat connector
up into the mounting hole until the locking tabs at
the bottom secure the connector into place (Fig. 5).
IMPORTANT: Mount the connectors to the
bracket prior to wiring the harness to the
tow vehicle.
7. Insert the long T-Connector socket into the
factory harness connector. Firmly press the ends
together until the locking tabs engage. Position
the protective cap removed in step 3 on the
shorter socket end of the T-Connector, pressing
firmly in place until the locking tabs engage.
