5. After draining has been completed, disengage the
PTO, close the water drain valve and refill the tank.
BE SURE the fill water filter element is clean. If the
filter is not clean it should be replaced immediately.
6. Make sure the area is clear and start the auxiliary
engine. Open the drain cock at the relief valve for a
few seconds to flush the over pressure return line.
Bring the engine to full throttle. Lower the deck onto
a metal plate or an area that will not be damaged by
repeated high pressure water blasts. Rotate the
bypass valve to the "Injection Mode" position. The
system will begin to pulse. Run the fresh water
through the system for a minimum of 5 minutes.
NEVER RUN THE HIGH PRESSURE PUMP DRY.
Bring auxiliary engine to idle speed and shut auxiliary
engine off. Drain the remainder of the water from the
tank. (If your unit is equipped with the wand
accessory, flush the wand also).
7. Disengage the PTO and raise the manifold brush
assembly. Turn off the Turf–Truckster engine and
inspect the jets and brushes. Clean and wash down
the manifold, roller and brushes. Spray a good
quality silicone spray into each of the nozzles to
prevent rust build–up.
8. Inspect all hoses and drive belts. Replace any hoses
or belts as needed.
WATER FILTER CARTRIDGE
REPLACEMENT
1. Turn off water supply to filter.
2. Depress red pressure relief button (if so equipped)
to relieve pressure in filter housing. Remove fill hose
3. Using the filter wrench, unscrew bottom of housing.
Locate and remove large O–ring or gasket, wipe
clean of lubricant and set aside.
4. Discard used cartridge. Rinse out bottom of housing
and fill about 1/3 full with water. Add about two (2)
tablespoons of bleach and scrub cap and bottom of
housing with nonabrasive sponge or cloth. Rinse
thoroughly to remove bleach and residue from filter
housing.
5. Lubricate O–ring or gasket with clean petroleum jelly
(Vaseline). Position O–ring into groove and smooth
into place with finger (or place gasket on rim of
bottom of housing).
6. Insert new cartridge over standpipe in bottom of
housing. Cartridges with TAPERED ENDS need to
be specifically installed with the TAPERED END
TOWARD THE THREADS OF THE HOUSING.
7. Screw bottom of housing onto cap and hand tighten.
DO NOT OVER–TIGHTEN. Make sure cap
standpipe slips into cartridge.
8. Turn on water supply slowly to allow system to fill
with water.
9. Depress pressure relief button to release trapped air.
10. Check for leaks in system and repair as needed.
WAND ACCESSORY
If your unit is equipped with the optional wand accessory
(Part No. 893924) it can be used to apply chemicals or
pressure wash equipment. The wand accessory
includes a stainless steel ball valve, 3200 psi brass
regulator/unloader, brass soap injector, wand/gun with a
safety trigger lock and an adjustable nozzle valve. Prior
to using the wand accessory, fill the tank and adjust the
injection pressure to 3400–3500 psi then return the
bypass valve to the recirculation mode.
If you want to operate the wand accessory above 1700
psi, shut the auxiliary engine off, remove the accumula-
tor and plug that port with the plug provided. This will
assure that the unloader valve operates properly when
the trigger is released.
To activate the wand accessory, turn the ball valve
counter–clockwise to open.
!
WARNING
BE SURE the trigger lock is activated to prevent
fluid from accidentally discharging from the
nozzle and severely injuring you or bystanders.
High pressure fluid can penetrate skin. NEVER
spray people or animals. NEVER use your hand
to check for leaks.
High pressure spray can propel objects.
ALWAYS wear protective clothing including
safety glasses and gloves.
Atomized
spray can create a hazardous
environment. NEVER spray toxic substances,
avoid asphyxiation and use a respirator.
Flammable chemicals can ignite. NEVER spray
flammable liquids.
Some chemicals can harm people or the
environment. ALWAYS read and understand all
label directions on any chemicals being used.
Spraying liquids around electrical sources can
be
hazardous.
equipment or wires.
Spray gun can propel itself into operators or
others. ALWAYS hold spray gun securely with
both hands.
Spraying liquid can cause slippery conditions.
NEVER stand on slippery and/or sloping
surfaces.
Bring the auxiliary engine to full throttle, then turn the
bypass valve clockwise to injection mode––the unit will
not pulse or emit liquid from the injection manifold if the
injection pressure has been set to 3400–3500 psi. The
regulator/unloader will be allowing the liquid being
pumped to return to tank at a moderate pressure. The
regulator/unloader has a knob to adjust the wand
discharge pressure.
