5. Operation
5.1 - Important recommendations
It is recommended to work with a cutting height that the machine does not
collect dirt, damaging both harvester and forage.
The maximum working angle of the cardan shaft can not exceed 15
to not exceed the maximum angle when lifting or lowering the machine with
the PTO turned on. It is recommended to unplug the PTO when not harvesting.
Always switch on the tractor power take-off at idle, wait for the system to
fully run and then slowly accelerate the tractor until it reaches 540 rpm on
the PTO shaft. Keep 540 rpm at the PTO shaft during the entire operation.
It is recommended to slowly start harvesting and increase the speed of the
tractor's movement gradually until it reaches the most appropriate conditions
of the crop, such as height, humidity, density, slope of the terrain, etc.
5.2 - Preventive test
Before starting to work, perform a preventive test as follows:
Make sure the cardan shaft is properly locked in the machine shaft and in
the power take-off of the tractor.
Turn on the tractor;
Raise the machine to the desired cutting height, respecting the maximum
allowable incline for the cardan shaft (15
Turn on the tractor power take-off at idle, wait for the system to fully run and
then slowly accelerate the tractor until it reaches 540 rpm on the PTO shaft;
Observe the machine for a few seconds.
If you notice any abnormality or failure of the machine functions, excessive
noise or vibration, stop the machine immediately:
Immediately stop the tractor movement;
Disconnect the hydraulic system from the tractor;
Turn off the power take off and the tractor engine.
