WARNING! The current flows between the active instrument and
neutral electrode through the patient. Control the path of the
current by positioning the neutral electrode appropriately, away
from active and other metallic implants or monitoring electrodes
(e.g. ECG leads).

Preparing the application site
WARNING! Remove body hair from the skin. Clean the skin sur-
face thoroughly (e.g. to remove skin creams). Dry the skin sur-
face.

Apply the neutral electrode and establish a
connection with the electrosurgical unit
1. Select the appropriate setting on the electrosurgical unit for
split or double-sided neutral electrodes.
WARNING! Position the neutral electrode with the arrow on the
neutral electrode pointing toward the surgical field.
2. Position the neutral electrode with the black conductive
fields flush against the patient. The contact surfaces must
not be allowed to overlap. There must be no kinks in the neu-
tral electrode.
3. Pick up the fixation (for article number, see the section "Ac-
cessories"). Place the fixation so that the fastening studs
face away from the patient and are clearly visible.
4. Connect the fixation using the fastening studs. Do not tight-
en the fixation so much as to hinder blood circulation or
cause pressure points on the patient.
5. Press the neutral electrode once with both hands against the
patient to ensure a flush contact.
WARNING! Insert the connector of the neutral electrode fully
into the connecting clamp of the neutral electrode cable. The
