Checking the product

WARNING! Check the product before use for external damage.
These might include cracks, holes, or kinks in the silicone sur-
face, as well as a damaged or corroded connector. Do not use
this product if it is damaged.
Repeated processing may cause discoloration on the silicone
surface or neutral electrode. This has no impact on the function
of the neutral electrode.
4.4 Selecting a suitable application site
WARNING! Apply the neutral electrode to intact skin as close as
possible to the surgical field. Give preference to the thigh or up-
per arm. Do not position the neutral electrode beneath the pa-
tient in order to avoid pressure points and contact with any ac-
cumulations of fluids.
Do not affix the neutral electrode on/over the following loca-
tions:
• on scars
• on inflamed skin
• on thin tissue layers, such as on joints or bones (sacrum,
scapula, hip, etc.)
• on massive subcutaneous fatty tissue
• on the buttocks
• over active and other metallic implants
WARNING! The activated electrosurgical unit can impair the per-
formance of or damage active implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers,
internal defibrillators). In the case of patients wearing active im-
plants, consult the manufacturer of the implant or the relevant
specialist physician prior to surgery.
