Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese form of therapy in which
specifically defined body parts, the so-called acupuncture
points, are stimulated by needles. They are located along body
lines called meridians. These acupuncture points can be used
to balance energetic disorders in the body, stimulate specific
organs or body regions and foster their function and vitality.
This kind of stimulation can also be obtained by applying
pressure (acupressure) or harmless electric impulses, like with the
Promed ACP electric acupuncture device, to the corresponding
acupuncture points. Acupuncture is used to treat pain syndromes
and functional disorders, among other things.
