3. Dip a clean cloth into the detergent and wipe the entire device.
4. Immerse the device in the detergent. Draw 50 mL of the detergent
into a syringe and inject the lumens and all mated surfaces.
5. Soak the device in the detergent for at least 15 minutes.
Cleaning: Manual
1. Thoroughly brush the exterior of the device using a soft-bristled
brush. Pay particular attention to the surfaces of the device where
contamination may linger—mated surfaces, rough surfaces, etc.
2. Draw 50mL of the detergent into a syringe and inject each
lumen and mated surface a minimum of five times.
3. Brush both ends of all lumens a minimum of five times,
using an appropriate bottle brush.
4. Brush any movable parts with the device actuated in all
extreme positions.
5. Rinse the device with treated water at ambient temperature
until there is no visible detergent residue. Flush the lumen and
all mated surfaces a minimum of five times. Continue to rinse
the device for a minimum of 30 seconds after all detergent
residue has been removed.
6. Drain excess water from the device, and dry all surfaces using
a clean cloth or pressurized air.
7. Visually inspect the device for cleanliness, paying close attention
to hard-to-reach areas. If visible soil remains, repeat steps 3 - 13,
focusing on areas where soil remains.
8. Prepare regular detergent according to the manufacturer's
recommendations and repeat steps 1 - 7.
9. Drain excess water from the device, and dry all surfaces using
a clean cloth or pressurized air.
Cleaning: Automated
1. Brush both ends of all lumens a minimum of five times using
an appropriate bottle brush.
2. Rinse the device with treated water at ambient temperature
until there is no visible detergent residue. Continue to rinse for
a minimum of 30 seconds after all detergent residue has been
removed.
3. Place the device in the washer on an incline to facilitate drainage.
4. Program the washer using the following parameters:
