Installation
3. The backup pump comes preassembled.
4. Position the Ace-In-The-Hole pump next to the
discharge pipe of your primary sump pump.
NOTICE: You may need someone to hold the pump
while clamping it in place. The clamps will fit around
a 1" to 1-1/2" discharge pipe.
5. With the back-up pump in position assemble the
clamps and attach the back-up pump to the discharge
pipe as shown in Figure 3.
NOTICE: Before tightening the nuts be sure the pump
bottom is at least 1" above the ON water level of the
primary sump pump (as indicated by the mark made
back in Step 1).
Figure 3 - Clamp the Back-up pump on to the
discharge pipe.
6. Make sure the pumps and switches do not interfere
with each other. See Figure 4.
NOTICE: Do not adjust the tether length on the float
switch.
7. Put the double pump assembly back into the sump
pit.
8. Run the discharge piping from the backup pump's
check valve to the water disposal area or into the
primary pump discharge pipe. If sharing a common
discharge pipe, install a check valve between the pri-
mary pump and the back-up pump connection to
prevent reverse flow from the back-up pump into the
primary sump pump. Refer to Figure 5.
9. Clamp the cords to the discharge pipe. See Figure 4.
10. Place the battery box within 7' of the sump and with-
in 9' of the electrical outlet. Do not store the battery
box on the floor. Battery box should be stored a mini-
mum of 18" off of the floor.
