rate the machine without water. Make sure there is enough water
in the tank.
Only coff ee beans must be put into the coff ee bean hopper. If
ground coff ee, instant coff ee or any other object is put in the coff ee
bean hopper, it may damage the machine.
Adjustable Ceramic Coff ee Grinders
Warning! The grinder adjustment knob, which is placed inside
the coff ee bean hopper, must be turned with the Coff ee grinder
adjustment key only when the coff ee grinder is working. Do not
put any material other than coff ee beans into the hopper. Do not
pour ground and/or instant coff ee into the coff ee bean hopper.
Warning: The coff ee grinder contains moving parts that may be
dangerous. Therefore, do not insert fi ngers and/or other objects. In
case of malfunction, turn off the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF
button and remove the plug from the socket before carrying out
any type of operation inside the coff ee bean hopper. Do not pour
coff ee beans when the coff ee grinder is working.
Coff ee Brewing using Pre-Ground Coff ee
Warning: Add only pre-ground coff ee to the compartment. Other
substances and objects may cause severe damages to the machine.
Such damages will not be covered by warranty.
Milk Carafe
Warning! Use the milk container for preparing beverages and drin-
king water for cleaning. Never use the container with liquids other
than those indicated.
Insert/Remove the Milk Carafe
Do not force the inclination of the carafe more than intended.
Hot Water Dispensing
Warning! At the beginning, short spurts of hot water may come
out: Risk of burning. The device may reach high temperatures: Do
not touch it with bare hands.
General Cleaning
Do not immerse the machine in water.
Do not wash any of its parts in the dishwasher.
Do not use sharp objects or harsh chemical products (solvents) for
cleaning.
Use a soft, dampened cloth to clean the machine.
Do not dry the machine and/or its parts using a microwave and/
or stan-dard oven.
Brew Group Cleaning with Coff ee Oil Remover
Warning: The Coff ee Oil Remover is to be used for cleaning only and
does not have a descaling function. For descaling use the Saeco de-

scaling solution and follow the procedure described in the "Desca-
ling" chapter.
Brew Group Lubrication
Please bear in mind that failure to lubricate the brew group every
month may prevent your appliance from working properly. Repair
is not covered by warranty.
Descaling
Not doing this will ultimately make your appliance stop working
properly, and in this case repair is not covered under your warranty.
Warning! Never drink the descaling solution or any products di-
spensed until the cycle has been carried out to the end. Never use
vinegar as a descaling solution.
Warning! Remove the "Intenza" fi lter before adding the descaling
solution.
Disposal

The packing materials can be recycled.

Appliance: Unplug the appliance and cut the power cord.

Deliver the appliance and power cord to a service center or pu-
blic waste disposal facility.

on the product or on its packaging indicates
that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead
it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the
recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.

human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropria-
te waste handling of this product. For more detailed information
