product can be derated (reduced) due to a lower rated supply voltage. Replace all batteries at the same time. Do not use spent
disposable batteries with new disposable batteries, or drained rechargeable batteries with fully-charged rechargeable batteries.
Never use disposable batteries with rechargeable batteries.
If the product will be stored (not used) for over 1 month, the batteries must be removed from the product to prevent an electrolyte
spill, which could otherwise cause irreparable damage to the product. If there is an electrolyte spill, avoid contact of the skin with
the electrolyte. Wipe off the electrolyte from the product with a dry and soft cloth. Do not dispose of the battery or the product
together with regular (household) waste; follow your local regulations for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)
disposal.
Protect the product from shocks and/or impact. Do not store the product together with other tools. Transport the product off with
the laser pointer dome locked.
The product is not intended for use by children under at least 8 years of age, individuals with reduced physical and/or mental
capacity, and anyone not experienced in operation of or understanding the product, unless they are supervised or instructed to
use the product safely and understand the hazards related to its use. The product is not a toy and children must never play with
it. Unattended children should not be allowed clean or perform maintenance of the product.
USING THE PRODUCT
Installing the batteries
Turn the battery compartment lock knob to the "OFF" position and slide the battery holder out of the battery compartment. Place
disposable or rechargeable batteries in the battery holder. Mind the proper polarity. Insert the battery holder into the battery com-
partment and secure it by turning the battery compartment lock knob to the "ON" position marked.
Charging the batteries!
Warning! Only rechargeable batteries can be charged. Charging of disposable battery may result in a fi re or explosion, which may
result in serious injury. Make sure that only rechargeable batteries are in the battery charger before charging.
Warning! Only use the battery charger included with the product. Use of other battery chargers may result in a fi re, electric shock
or damage to the product.
The product is supplied with rechargeable batteries which may have to be charged before the fi rst use.
Remove the rubber plug from the battery charging socket on the front panel of the battery holder. Plug the battery charger output
cable to the battery charging socket of the product. Plug the battery charger power cord to a mains outlet.
The battery charger has a LED indicator. When the LED fl ashes, the battery charger is not plugged to the battery holder or the
battery holder is empty. The steady red LED light means that the batteries are being recharged. The steady green LED light means
that the batteries have been recharged.
Once the batteries have been recharged, unplug the battery charger from the mains outlet and the battery charging socket of the
product's battery holder. Seal the battery charging socket with the rubber plug.
The rechargeable batteries included with the product take approx. 7 hours to be fully recharged.
The battery holder can be installed in or removed from the product during charging.
if the battery holder is installed in the product, you can charge the batteries and use the product at the same time. This reduces the
product's housing IP rating to IPX0, which means the product must not be exposed to water or other liquids. The product cannot
be operated with the output voltage of the battery charger, i.e. without the batteries in the installed battery holder.
Battery charging safety instructions
Caution! Before charging the batteries, make sure that the housing, the output cable, the power cord and the plugs of the battery
charger are not damaged. NEVER use the battery charger when damaged or defective! Use the battery charger supplied with the
product only to recharge the batteries. Use of other battery chargers may result in a fi re or failure of the product. Recharge the bat-
teries only in a sheltered / indoor room which is dry and prevents access of unauthorized individuals, especially children. Monitor
the battery charging process at all times. If you need to leave the room where the batteries are charged, fi rst unplug the battery
charger from the mains outlet. In the event of smoke or suspicious smoke from the battery charger or otherwise abnormalities,
immediately unplug the battery charger from the mains outlet!
Rechargeable Ni-MH batteries do not have the so-called "memory eff ect", which allows them to be recharged at any time. How-
ever, it is recommended to always fully discharge the rechargeable batteries during normal operation and fully recharge them
afterwards. If the work done with the product does not facilitate this discharge and recharge cycle, do it at least every few or ten-
odd charging cycles. NEVER drain the rechargeable battery voltage by shorting their terminals or the batteries will fail! NEVER
test the charge of a rechargeable battery by shorting its terminals to see if they spark.
Storing the batteries
To extend the life of the rechargeable batteries, proper storage conditions must be maintained. The service life of the rechargeable
battery is approximately 500 full discharge and recharge cycles. Store the battery at a temperature between 0 and 30 °C and a
relative humidity of 50%. Prolonged storage of the rechargeable batteries requires recharging them fi rst at least to approx. 70% of
