Flushing drain
When flushing DHK/UI, rotate the flushing drain (Fig. 3,
item 6) downwards to stop the contaminated diesel/oil
mixture running into the test oil tank of the EPS 205.
For this purpose, a vessel must be placed under the
flushing drain on the workbench (on the left next to the
EPS 205).
3.6.8
Internal extraction controller
The internal extractor of the EPS 205 is activated
automatically in the spray pattern test. This is only
possible with compressed air connected up on the
back of the device (Fig. 2, item 2). The oil mist vapor
occurring with open injection is extracted in the jet
chamber and filtered internally. The extraction intensity
is set with the extraction controller (Fig. 1, item 7).
i
For the residual oil mist it is advisable to additionally
connect an oil mist extraction and filtering unit
to the connection for external extraction (Fig. 1,
item 4).

Injection chamber, clamping ring, O-ring
WARNING – Risk of burns
The hot surfaces at the injection chamber
can cause severe hand burns.
¶
Put on protective gloves before removing
6
the injection chamber.
6
During testing, the DHK/UI, CRI/CRIN or CRI Piezo
squirts the test oil into the injection chamber. The test
oil flows back out of the injection chamber via the hose
1 680 712 362 to the DHK/UI flushing connection/
test connection or to the injected fuel quantity test
connection (CRI/CRIN), see Fig. 4.

Replacing injection chamber O-rings
!
The O-rings are to be checked for damage at regular
intervals. Never use any squashed or frayed O-rings.
Depending on the diameter of the nozzle (7 mm /
9 mm) of the CRI/CRIN, CRI Piezo or DHK/UI, it may
be necessary to fit an O-ring insert with O-rings and
knurled nut in the correct position in the injection
chamber.
