Checking toothed belt
The condition and tension of the toothed belt can only
be checked by Customer service personnel.
The toothed belt is to be replaced if checking reveals
the following signs of damage:
R
Toothed belt torn or not intact
R
Corroded wire inlays in toothed belt
R
Severely worn tooth flanks

Replacing toothed belt
The toothed belt is only to be replaced by Customer
service personnel.

Replacing inlet filter element

Dirt deposits in the inlet filter are primarily the
result of common rail injectors not having been
cleaned, or only inadequately, before testing.

1. Detach the inlet filter from the quick-release
couplings.
2. Use two wrenches to slacken off and completely
open up the screw connections (Fig. 46, item 1
and 6).
3. Take out the flat sealing ring, spring, filter element
and O-ring (Fig. 46, item 2, 3, 4, 5).
4. Take out and dispose of the flat sealing ring, filter
element and O-ring.
5. Clean both screw connections with clean test oil.
6. Fit a new O-ring.
7. Fit a new filter element in the correct position.
8. Fit a new flat sealing ring.
9. Insert the spring.
10. Fasten the screw connections and tighten with
a torque wrench (tightening torque = 50 Nm).

This completes filter element replacement.

6.2.12
Replacing the strainer of the changeover
valve
DANGER - Risk of electric shock from live
parts!
Contact with live parts (e.g. master switch,
printed circuit boards) in open devices
can cause electric shock, heart failure and
fatality.

After switching the device off, allow parts
a period of one minute to discharge.
Procedure:
1. Switch off the EPS 205.
2. Disconnect EPS 205 from the three-phase system.

3. Unscrew the right housing fastening screws (8x)

4. Detach the housing cover (fig. 47, item 3).
5. Unscrew the ground cable from the housing cover
(fig. 47, item 1).
