When the crank is turned in the "up"
direction, the load comes down, and
vice-versa

16.1 Removal from service
The winch is removed from service in the
following cases:
• Detection
malfunctions table).
• Extended non-use of the winch.
In the latter case, the winch can remain in its
working position provided it is sheltered from
weather and it is in a dry location.
Removal from service procedure
• If the unit is functional:
o Unfasten the load from the lifting hook.

Diagnostics
Release the caRol™ wire rope taking
all the usual precautions. If the wire
rope is damaged (per criteria detailed
in §13), replace the wire rope.
Wind the caRol™ wire rope in the
correct direction.
Release the load and check the cable
before resuming the movement
Remove the load and return the winch
to a Tractel
Remove the load and return the winch

Generously lubricate gear system
(see §18 Maintenance)

o Fully wind the wire rope on the drum using
the control crank.
• If the unit is not functional:
o Recover the load using another appropriate
lifting means, taking all the necessary
(see
precautions for this type of intervention.
o Wind the caRol™ wire rope on a reel having
a diameter equal to or greater than the
diameter of the drum (not supplied by
Tractel
®
) taking care not to damage the wire
rope.
o Fasten the reel to the carrying handle using
an appropriate fastening means.
