Function
The standard design measurement car is a working
digital model equipped with a special decoder,
measurement capabilities and an electronic dis-
play circuit. Prototypical and scale measurements
can be carried out and displayed in the windows
of the car on any digital layout (6020 or 6021
central unit, 6036 locomotive controller) with the
f1, f2, f3, and f4 function buttons.
– model (m) or prototype (km) route measurements
– model (m/s) or prototype (km/h) speed measure-
ments
– stop watch for short time measurements (s) or
long time measurements (min)
– running time measurements for individual runs
(min) or the entire number of hours the car is in
operation (h)
During conventional operation with a train con-
trol transformer or in the DELTA system, the actual
prototype speed (km/h) is constantly displayed.
The measurements are independent of the direc-
tion of travel.

The hours in operation counter (h) records all
operating times for the car, even when other mea-
sures are being carried out. The operating time
value that has been reached cannot be reset;
a certain test time will already be stored in the
units memory when it is delivered from the factory.
The headlights at the end of the car are always
lit when there is current in the track. The current
conducting couplers are powered from the panto-
graph on the roof of the car, and cars with this
same coupler that are coupled to the measure-
ment car can be supplied with power from the
catenary for their interior lighting.
The only time you should open the car is to chan-
ge the digital address or to change those spare
parts indicated in these instructions. Be careful
when doing this to avoid damage to the electronic
components in the car. Under no circumstances
are the trucks to be removed from the car!
Please see your authorized Märklin dealer for
repairs or spare parts. Please read the enclosed
warranty card.
