Cleaning the spark plug
The spark plug is located behind the air lter.
Remove the spark plug using a spark plug
spanner. Remove any deposits using a wire
brush.
Use a feeler gauge to check that the spark
gap is 0.6-0.7 mm and adjust if necessary.
If the spark plug is very sooty, clean or
replace it. Always replace with the same type.
Carburettor adjustment
If the chainsaw is not running smoothly,
the engine speed can be ne-tuned at the
carburettor.
Clean the air and fuel lters rst and check
that the fuel and chain oil are mixed correctly
(1:40).
Start the engine.
Remove the plastic stopper at position (22)
and adjust the idling screw (22) underneath,
so that there is a suitable safety margin
between idling and engagement. The chain
must not move around the blade when the
engine idles.
Checking the chain wheel
Remove the side plate and check the
chain wheel. If the chain wheel's teeth are
more worn down than 5 mm, replace the
chain wheel with a new one of the same
speci cations as the old one.
Adjusting the oil screw
On delivery, the oil pump is set to provide
around 7 ml chain oil per minute for an
engine speed of around 7,000 rpm. If
necessary, adjust the lubrication by turning
the oil screw on the underside of the
chainsaw clockwise or anticlockwise. The
maximum lubrication is around 13 ml chain
oil per minute.
