Connection of the Fore-Vacuum Pump

The foreline connection should be made using the KF 16 NW flange provided on the
TwisTorr 305-ICQ & 305-IC SF. The connection to the foreline pump can be made
by a vacuum rated hose or pipe. If a rigid pipe is used, any vibration generated by
the mechanical pump must be damped through the use of bellows.
The TwisTorr 305-ICQ & 305-IC SF is characterized by its high compression ratio

also for oil vapors. When using a mechanical oil-sealed pump, it is advisable to
install a suitable trap between the turbopump and the fore-vacuum pump in order to
prevent back streaming oil or particulate from dry pumps.
