Operating the unit
Danger
Danger of injury
To avoid injury keep other people,
children and / or animals well
away from the unit while it is in
operation. Stones or other similar
small objects could be accidentally
thrown up by the unit and cause
injury. The unit must never be
operated by children.
While emptying the grass catcher
grass debris could be thrown up
and cause injury. Never empty the
grass catcher while the cutting
blade is in motion.
When you are mowing on steep
slopes the unit can tip over and
cause injury to the operator. Only
drive up and down the slope not
across. Only drive on slopes with a
maximum incline of 20 %. Do not
turn on slopes.
Do not mow on wet grass
because reduced traction could
cause sliding and you could fall
off. Only mow on dry grass.
Excessive speeds can increase the
risk of an accident.
Keep away from marginal areas
e.g. steep embankments, below
trees and near bushes and hedges.
Take extra care when mowing
backwards. Check the area to be
mown and remove all objects
which could be picked up and
thrown up by the unit.
After striking a foreign object with
the blade (e.g. stone), stop the
engine immediately. Thoroughly
inspect the mower for any damage
and contact your authorised service
dealer, if necessary.
Danger of suffocation through
carbon monoxide
Only run the combustion engine in
well- aired rooms and outdoors.
Danger of explosion and fire.
Fuel and gasoline vapours are
highly explosive and fuel is
extremely flammable.
Always add fuel before starting the
engine. Do not remove the fuel cap
and expose the fuel tank while the
engine is running or hot.
Stop the engine and allow it to
cool before refueling. Avoid open
fire and sparks and do not smoke.
Never refuel the machine indoors.
Do not start the engine if fuel has
been spilled. Remove the unit from
the area with spilled fuel and wait
until the fuel vapours have
evaporated. To avoid fire hazard
keep the following parts of the
machine free of grass or oil:
engine, exhaust pipe, battery, fuel
tank.

5
Only operate the unit in perfect
working order. Visually inspect the
unit before each operation.
It is particularly important to check
that the safety devices, the cutting
blades with their holders, the
controls and all nuts & bolts are
undamaged and securely fitted.
Replace damaged parts before
operation.
Before each operation
Check:
• All safety devices
• Engine oil level
(see engine manual)
• Fuel level
• Tyre inflation pressure (see
technical specifications or
tyres)
Side panels, accessories and the
area around the air filter and the
radiator screen (optional) for dirt
and grass debris
Adjustments prior to mowing:
Warning!
Do not make any adjustments
while the engine is running or
when the tractor is in motion.
• Place the tractor on a level
surface
• Stop the engine before working
on the unit

wires from the spark plugs
