Section 3
3.1 — General
This procedure is for any installation that needs an exter-
nally controlled fuel shutoff to meet Australian agency
requirements, specifically AS/NZS 3814-2009, clause
2.26.3 - Requirements for a programmable electronic
system (PES).
3.2 — Components Required (to be purchased) and Specifications

DIN Rail 6 inches (Standard

Wiring – 300VAC 18g UL rated
Wiring – 600VAC 18g UL rated
Convoluted Tubing – 3/8"
5A Fuse
Fuse Holder
Gas Pressure Switch
(2.5-50 mbar/NO)
NOTE: If specific brands or types are not available, use approved comparable replacement components.
3.3 — Installation Instructions
DANGER
Automatic start-up. Disconnect utility power and render
unit inoperable before working on unit. Failure to do so
will result in death or serious injury.
NOTE: Throughout this procedure, refer to the Wire
Gauge and Length Chart (Table 3-2) and to the wiring
diagrams and schematics at the end of this section.

Drill two (2) holes in the engine divider, and mount

DIN rail (make sure not to damage decals).
Remove any metal debris after drilling. (see Figure
3-1)
Installation Addendum For 50 Hz Air-cooled Generators
Note 5 - Provision of back-up hard-wired hardware
safety systems can be used to reduce PES system
SIL requirements as determined by the SIL analysis
of the overall safety system.
