breathing apparatus is connected to an external air supply. If the pressure of the
external air supply is too low, meaning that the wearer cannot be supplied with a
minimum amount of breathing air, a warning signal will sound. Optionally, an
RFID transponder can be fitted in the case.
The connecting hose has a female quick-release fastener at both ends for quick
connection and disconnection.
The vest consists of an outer vest and an inner vest, which are connected using
zips and press studs. The outer vest is equipped with a harness with adjustable
chest straps and shoulder straps. The zips are used to regulate the cooling. They
can be opened and closed at any time. If the zips are opened, some of the air
can escape out of the back of the vest, rather than passing over the body in front
of the wearer.
The ventilation vest can be carried using a carrying strap or hung up when not in
use. A name or identification label can be attached to a hook-and-loop strip.

Intended use

The ventilation vest is worn under the Dräger SPC 3700 or Dräger SPC 4700
chemical protective suit. It supplies the wearer with breathing air and cools at the
same time. The chemical protective suit should not be exposed to substances in
higher concentrations than those tested. Substances with higher concentrations
require other protective clothing. This chemical protective suit may not provide
protection in certain highly-toxic atmospheres.
It has to be considered that at a very high work rate the pressure in the chemical
protective suit can become negative at peak inhalation flow.
The ventilation vest can also be used without a chemical protective suit. In this
case, the vest only cools the wearer.

Approvals
The ventilation vest is only approved in combination with the Dräger SPC 3700
and Dräger SPC 4700 chemical protective suit in accordance with:
EN 14594:2018 4A (respiratory protective devices - air line breathing
apparatus with continuous air flow) (maximum inward leakage of 0.05 % )
(EU) 2016/425
