2.
Put on the waist belt with the air line breathing apparatus.
3.
Connect the 45° angled coupling of the connecting hose to the vest (see
Fig. F on Page 5).
4.
Put on the vest. Ensure that the right-angled coupling of the connecting
hose remains free.
5.
Connect the right-angled coupling of the connecting hose to the distributor
output (see Fig. F on Page 5).
6.
Fasten the waist belt and chest strap and adjust all straps as necessary.
7.
Put on the chemical protective suit. At the same time, insert the hose of the
compressed air supply into the chemical protective suit and connect to the
inlet coupling of the air line breathing apparatus (see Fig. F on Page 5). The
air must flow audibly from the ventilation vest. If the pressure rises, the
warning signal will sound briefly.
8.
Make sure that the hoses are not kinked or crushed.
9.
Take a deep breath several times to ensure that there is sufficient air. Then
breathe normally.
WARNING
Danger to life due to loose hose connections!
If the hose of the compressed air supply is not firmly connected and slips out of
the chemical protective suit, sufficient breathing air may not be available.
Negative pressure could develop in the chemical protective suit. In addition,
contaminants may enter the chemical protective suit.
► Ensure that the hose is correctly connected.
4.3

During use

NOTICE
Hearing protection is not normally required, since the air noise of the ventilation
vest in a chemical protective suit is less than 70 dB(A). If hearing protection is
used, the warning signal is harder to hear.
4.3.1 Variable cooling
If necessary, adjust the cooling capacity of the vest using the zips (see Fig. A-4
on Page 3):
Open the zips to reduce the cooling capacity.
Close the zips to increase the cooling capacity.

4.3.2 Warning signal

If the warning signal sounds, there is not enough pressure in the system. The
work must be discontinued immediately and the danger area must be left in the
shortest and safest way. Do not disconnect the compressed air line from the
distributor. Take off the chemical protective suit as soon as it is safe to do so.
4.4

After use

1.
Pre-clean and take off the chemical protective suit.
2.
Disconnect the compressed air supply hose from the inlet coupling.
3.
Unfasten the waist belt and take off the ventilation vest.
4.
Clean the ventilation vest.
