2. Check whether the instrument has been detected: On the
VIO 300 D, "BiClamp" mode is displayed and on the VIO 3,
the "BiClamp" instrument is shown.
If a correctly connected instrument is not detected, replace
the instrument.
If the error persists, replace the electrosurgical unit.
Note: You can also connect the instrument to an MF socket on a
VIO 300 D using adapter 20183-100.
All instruments:
You can change the effect setting in a specified range.
CAUTION! Risk of thermal damage: Choose the effect only as
high as necessary for use.

Conducting a performance test

1. Moisten a gauze strip with a sterile NaCl solution.
2. Grasp the gauze strip with the instrument jaws and activate
the HF current.
Steam will form after approx. 2 to 3 seconds if the instrument is
working properly.
If damaged, do not use this product!

During use

WARNING! Risk of thermal damage, risk of bleeding due to in-
complete sealing: Do not activate over metallic objects (e.g.,
metal clips).
WARNING! Risk of bleeding due to incomplete sealing:
• Be careful with vascular pathologies (e.g., calcified vessels).
If possible, avoid healthy vessel segments.
• Grasp the vessels in the middle of the coagulation surfaces
and not in the area of the instrument hinge.
