- Raise the saw bow, and ensure setting bracket is disconnected from limit switch.
TO START THE BAND SAW
1. Press and turn Emergency Stop (red mushroom) (f).
2. Start the band saw by:
- Turning the option switch to position "handgrip control" (b).
- Turning the option switch to position "main switch" (b), then press the main switch (c).
TO STOP THE BAND SAW
1. Push the Emergency (red mushroom) (f).
2. Turn the total switch (d) to "OFF" or (e) to "0".

6.4 CONTROL DEVICES

The machine is equipped with the following control devices:
TOTAL SWITCH (d Fig 47) or (e Fig 48)
The function of this switch is to power supply the machine. When it is on, the pilot light (a) indicates that the
machine is energized.
Model SRM170T (3-Phases motor only):
- Position "0": the saw blade does not rotate.
- Position "1": this is the position of the lowest speed.
- Position "2": this is the position of the fastest speed.
EMERGENCY STOP (f Fig 47 & 48)
The machine is equipped with an emergency push button used to stop the machine in an emergency. The stop
push button must be released before the machine is restarted after an emergency stop.
OPTION SWITCH (b Fig 47 & 48)
The function of this switch is option circuit: "handgrip control" or "main switch".
MAIN SWITCH (c Fig 47 & 48)
Press this switch, the band saw is running.
HANDGRIP WITH CONTROL PUSH BUTTON (A Fig 1)
The handgrip control (the operator must be present) is used to lift or lower the bow, in order to carry out the cutting
operation. This handgrip consists of a tube, secured to the machine head: the handgrip control with its push button
is fitted to the end of the tube.
Press the button to start rotating the saw blade; release the button to stop it.
Furthermore, the handgrip is equipped with a safety device to guard against accidental star up.
GUARD OPENING MICROSWITCH (Fig 31)

The machine is equipped with a position action microswitch.
The function of this device is to stop the band from rotating if the FLYWHEEL GUARD opens.
