MARQUIS: ALIGNING THE FRONT ROLLS ___________________________
Should the front rolls become out of true with the
bottom blade, adjust accordingly:
1.
Slacken the nut on the front roll carriage, left hand side for the 61cm (24in) machine, right hand side
for the 51cm (20in) machine.
2.
Place a straight edge between the front and rear rolls and check the variation in the measurement
between the bottom blade cutting edge and the straight edge at both sides of the machine.
3.
Reset the front roll carriage so that the measurement between the bottom blade and the straight edge
is the same on both sides.
4.
Retighten the nut.

SUPER CERTES: HEIGHT OF CUT ADJUSTMENT _____________________
The cutting height is determined by the position of the
front roll in relation to the bottom blade; variation of
this setting is made by adjusting the front roll:
1.
Loosen the bolts [D] securing the front roll
brackets on both sides of the machine.
2.
Set the roll at the required height by either
turning the handscrew [A] clockwise to raise the
height of cut or anticlockwise to lower the height
of cut. Check that the setting is the same at both
sides of the machine.
NOTE: The hexagon spacer and locking nut do not need to be altered during this operation.
3.
To ensure that the height of cut is set correctly, tilt the machine back and place a straight edge across
the front and rear rolls - the gap between the bottom blade cutting surface and the straight edge
should not be less that 5mm (
Check the setting at both ends of the bottom blade. A height of cut 3mm (
blade can be obtained for fine finishing providing that the area to be cut is of high standard.
NOTE: The front roll should never be set so that the bottom blade is pressing on the turf; this will damage
the spiral cutters, bottom blade and the turf.
