Slow down and use extra care on hillsides. Read Section 3.7. Use caution when operating near
drop off points.

Never use your hands to clean cutting units. Use a brush to remove grass clippings from blades.
Blades are extremely sharp and can cause serious injuries.

OPERATION OF THE MACHINE ____________________________________
BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE FOR THE FIRST TIME
1.
Remove the sump filler cap and with the machine on level ground check to see if sump is filled with
oil, if not fill sump up to the top of the filler hole threads with a recommended engine oil.
2.
Fill the petrol tank with fresh regular grade lead free petrol.
3.
Lubricate the machine (as recommended in section 11).
TO START THE ENGINE
1.
Ensure that the cylinder clutch is disengaged.
2.
Turn fuel tap to 'ON' position.
3.
Ensure that the Parking Brake is engaged.
4.
Move the choke lever to the START position.
5.
Set the ignition cutout switch to the 'ON' position.
6.
Pull the rope operated recoil starter fully to start the engine. Allow the rope to recoil slowly before
releasing the handle.
7.
Move the choke lever to the RUNNING position.
TO STOP THE ENGINE
1.
Disengage the Operator Presence System, set the ignition cutout switch to the 'OFF' position and
disengage cylinder clutch.
IMPORTANT: If machine is being left over night or stored turn the fuel tap to the 'OFF' position.
Note: DO NOT allow the engine to idle for long periods.
