1 Intended use
1.1 Specification of the indication
The ligation instruments are intended to be used to seal arterial
and venous blood vessels and vascular tissue structures in
laparoscopic and open surgical procedures in gynaecology,
urology, general surgery, and in other surgical disciplines with
the aid of an HF current and mechanical pressure.
In addition the ligation instruments are suitable for the
conventional bipolar coagulation. The instruments can also be
used to cut tissue.
The ligation instruments are surgically invasive instruments for
laparoscopic and open surgical use. They can be used in
conjunction with endoscopically usable products (eg. as trocars
and optics) by surgically prepared accesses.
The instrument is intended to be used in connection with the
LIGATION program of BOWA ARC generators.
In conjunction with the BOWA HF generators ARC 400/350 is
also a COMFORT feature that offers automatically instrument
identification and parameter preselection.
DO NOT USE this instrument on vessels larger than 7 mm in
diameter*.
